About Rev. Dr. Tikeisha Harris “Dr. T”

Hey Sis,

Welcome to a space dedicated to your well-being. I explore Black women’s trauma so we can collectively heal through spirituality. This space is for you to dig deeper, grow stronger and find a community of sisters dedicated to doing the same.

A BIT ABOUT ME

As a Black woman survivor of childhood trauma, my work is anchored in Womanist Pastoral Care. I believe in therapy, but many Black women go to church and friends before sitting on a therapist’s couch. This space is for women who may be in therapy and want another affirming space. But it’s also for women who can’t afford therapy, are still trying to figure out how it’ll fit into their schedule, or are just exploring if therapy is for them. I offer a spiritual space as part of your healing journey.

You may be wondering why I said a Womanist Pastoral Care model. Alice Walker coined the term womanist, and it speaks to the audaciousness attributed to Black girls who dare to ask questions and be seen. I believe in asking questions and stepping out of the boundaries, ruffling feathers to be seen and heard when silence is what would put others at ease. As a pastoral care method, it grounds Black women and offers that within sisterhood and the use of African-centered spiritual practices, we can tell our story so we move ourselves to a place of freedom.

I hold a B.A. in Sociology from Lincoln University, a Master of Divinity degree from Wesley Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry from McCormick Theological Seminary. My degrees on the wall are only part of my story. The rest is intuited from The Divine that leads so we can journey together to find inner peace and manifest our best selves. In the words of Hezekiah Walker, “I need you, you need me…you are important to me, I need you to survive!”

Let’s heal together. Get bold together. Lean into each other’s stories and affirm one another. Are you ready to start your journey today? Then, let’s schedule a 30-minute exploratory session to see if we can work together. Or maybe you want to visit the shop and find a book, journal, or Bible Study to help you.

If you are not quite ready to talk, subscribe to our weekly devotional, monthly newsletter, and periodic notices of events we are hosting.
